Why is there a shortage of driving instructors?

Some people find it hard to find a driving instructor. Why is this? The main reason for this I believe is the people looking for good secure work. After Covid and the unsafe roads around the UK this is putting potential Instructors off teaching people how to learn to drive.

Lats year there was 132, 063 casualties around the country. With this in mind, people feel scared to take learners on the roads and the older driving instructors are retiring and no one is replacing these driving instructors. One answer to this: if you want the roads safer why not teach people how to become safer through you instructing people the safe way.

Another point that people will think of is I am self employed will I earn enough money to live on and be comfortable. The truth is if you are training properly and you give a good service your previous learners will suggest you to their friends and relatives. With the waiting list for driving tests being so long other driving instructors can not take on more people and it is estimated that the waiting list will not be  low for another 2 or 3 years, so this would get you more established.

More and more driving instructors are struggling on whether to go on their own or be with a franchise. This is totally up to  you. If you are on your own think of how will market your driving school. Think of anything else that that you may need to make you stand out. If you want a website pay someone to do it, then try and get yourselves higher up towards page one of Google.

If you joined a franchise most of the advertising, stationary and website would be run by them. If they have a good name through previous learners. they will  get you, your own potential  learners , One bad point is that some franchises do charge you quite a lot for the fees and car. Some franchises don’t charge as much let you run your own diary and just do local to your area. They also allow you to just have the driving school head board on top of your car but some want the company name all over your car.

So if you decided you would like to try and be a driving instructor. Then please do your research please look at all the figures to make sure that you can earn money even look on website about what there customers say.
