Cancellation Apps

Driving test cancelation app

Is the cancellation app worth it?

We all including driving instructors, are fed up with the waiting time for driving tests. So, after Covid, one started using the cancellation app to look foran  earlier driving test, but is it worth it? Also, how do these apps get you an earlier driving test?

How do they do it?

You download the app put in your booking reference driving licence number and anything else it asks for, you then pay your fee and wait. But what happens then? The companies that run these apps use your details to find tests not only for you but other people from your details.  All that is needed for them to do this is your details they are allowed to use your details six times. So once your details have been used and you then go on the DVSA website and see a test you would not be able to book it creating more waiting time.

This is increasing waiting times for everyone daily, as I write this blog, waiting times in Leeds are roughly 6 months waiting time. All driving instructors, as well as you, want the waiting times to be down by a lot. You as the people who want to pass your driving tests along with driving instructors can reduce these times. How you Ask.

The solution

So when you pass your theory, whether you are learning with a driving instructor,  a friend, or a family member if you book your test. Do not then go on these apps to get an earlier test. First of all, get yourself nearer to test standards, and while you are doing this, go to the DVSA website and check for cancellations. This costs nothing, but what it will do over time is reduce waiting times for driving tests. We all want to pass our driving tests quickly, but thinking quickly is not safe. Will you stay safe as you like to get things done?

Covid is coming up to nearly 4 years ago when this problem started and it should have been sorted if it wasn’t for the apps.

There are also people booking tests that do not turn up for their driving test, making people, including driving examiners, more frustrated, as that test could have been taken by someone ready for the driving test.
