Turning left and emerging left
On this driving lesson you will be learning how to turn left.
Your driving instructor or examiner will give an instruction of something like. “ please take the next left”
So the first thing you should do is see where the left is. When you see it you need to check your centre and left door mirror, then you would give a left signal.
Once you have done that you need to position yourself to the left of your lane, Then you will start to slow down as you get close to the junction. Once you are close enough and you have slowed down enough look down the new road to see if anything is going to cause you to stop. The when at the corner you then need to turn to the left keeping your side of the road. Once you are on the new road check your centre mirror to make sure you have not missed anything.
For emerging left you would normally have a give way sign or stop sign for this We are approaching a stop sign.
Your instructions would be at the end of the road turn left. So the first thing you would do is check your centre and left door mirror, then you would position you car towards the left of your lane as you approach the junction you need to slow down and come to a stop when you are at the junction.
You would then look left and right to see if it is safe to go, when it is safe start to move off and turn to your left. Then when on the new road check your centre mirror to see if you have missed anything and progressed.
